Document :Coastal Development between Opportunity and Disaster Risk : A Multisectoral Risk Assessment for Vietnam ( 8/2020)

05 August 2020, World Bank published the assessment for Vietnam in coastal Vietnam.Five (5) natural hazards: riverine flooding, coastal flooding, typhoon winds, coastal erosion, saline intrusion have a huge effect on socio-economic development. (Agriculture, aquaculture, human resources, electric power, education…etc.). This document presents detail about the technical acknowledge, data source, and highlight analysis for each sector. Natural hazards have a different effect level in individual region/ city, and the provincial contribution capacity to national prosperity also are not the same. Fortunately, the Vietnamese government has awarded these urgent challenges and try to control the lowest damage risks.
