Southern region to face heavy rain in May

May 3rd, 2022, following Dan Tri News. The southern region of Vietnam has been forecast to see heavy rain in May with strong wind and hail, according to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

The average May rainfall in most of the southern localities would be higher than that of many previous years, particularly those in the southeast.

On the first five days of May, the total rainfall in the southern region would be 70-150mm.

On May 11-20, the lowest temperature in the southern region would be around 24-26 degrees centigrade; meanwhile, the highest would be 34-36 degrees centigrade. The temperature in the Southwest would be 33-35 degrees centigrade.

People have been warned of strong wind and hail.

Over the past week, the rain has happened in many areas in the Mekong Delta with an average rainfall of 20mm. Some localities, including Ca Mau and Can Tho, have experienced an average rainfall of 20mm.
