AWS is a global membership-based collaboration. We unite organizations behind our mission: To lead a global network that promotes responsible use of freshwater that is socially and economically beneficial and environmentally sustainable.

We achieve this through a global water stewardship system, centered on the International Water Stewardship Standard (AWS Standard), that drives, recognizes and rewards good water stewardship performance.

Our vision is that water users and managers are responsible water stewards, who protect and enhance freshwater resources for people and nature.

AWS Standard provides a globally-applicable framework for major water users to understand their water use and impacts, and to work collaboratively and transparently for sustainable water management within a catchment context.

ADB adapts its support for Indonesia to reflect the complex development needs of a rapidly evolving middle-income country. The focus of assistance has moved from an emphasis on agriculture in the 1970s, to energy, urban infrastructure, and education in the 1980s, to finance sector reform and resilience in the late 1990s. With Indonesia having built much stronger systems and capacity, ADB now provides results-based forms of financing, enabling the country to use its internal systems and principle-based approaches.

Indonesia is part of the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) and the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) subregional programs.

Australian Water Partnership (AWP) offers a unique opportunity to bring together the Australian development and water sectors under a long-term strategic engagement framework. By sharing its experiences from three decades of water reform, and from learning to manage water as a scarce economic good, Australia can help international partners to develop a better understanding of their sustainable water resource base, implement robust basin-scale planning, enact governance reforms supported by innovative policy and legal frameworks, strengthen institutions and build professional capability, develop water sensitive cities, improve water quality and ecological health, and manage demand and improve water use efficiency, in a variable and drying climate. To manage water resources effectively and equitably in the Indo-Pacific region to support sustainable economic development, improve water security for all, and reduce environmental and social impacts and regional tensions.

A BREAKTHROUGH IN LOW COST AND HIGH QUALITY TREATMENT OF DOMESTIC WASTEWATER
Bluecon® International offers proven compact wastewater purifying units, in which domestic wastewater is blueconized into irrigation water. Blueconizing is a new physical technology to purify wastewater to optimise the water cycle. The ability to blueconize domestic wastewater from villages and small towns into irrigation water, fits well in an environmental sustainable policy and re-use of water.

COMPACT AND MODULAR UNIT
Unlike large-scale investments in conventional biological treatment plants, Bluecon® International offers compact and modular units. The Bluecon® can be realised without large complex infrastructural and sanitation systems. Bluecon® International takes care of the installation, operation and service or maintenance of its units. With a multi-year contract the company can even take over the investment of the project to guarantee the quality of the irrigation water and to unburden the customer.

The Mekong Delta (MD), with a natural area of about 4 million hectares and over 18.4 million people, is the biggest agricultural production area in the entire country and is considered the rice basket of Vietnam. Besides rice production, the MD is also rich in fruits and seafood for export. This is a rich land with beautiful scenery including colorful fruit trees all year round.

Can Tho University (CTU), an important state higher education institution in the MD, is the cultural, scientific and technical center of the MD and Vietnam. Since its founding in 1966, CTU has been improving and developing itself. It has an enrollment of about 54.000 undergraduate students; 3.000 students have been following Master programs; and around 300 students are Ph.D candidates. CTU has got over 2.000 staff members including nearly 1.200 teaching staff and 800 supporting staff. From a university with a few fields of study at the beginning, it has developed into a multidisciplinary university. Currently, it has nearly 100 undergraduates, 36 Master and 15 Doctoral training programs. Every year CTU receives students on internship programs from the U.S, Belgium, Japan and so on, or under agreements between their universities and CTU.

CTU’s main missions are training, conducting scientific research, and transferring technology to serve the regional and national socio-economic development. In addition to its training responsibilities, CTU has actively taken part in scientific research projects, applying the advances in scientific and technological knowledge to solving problems related to science, technology, economics, culture and society in the region. From achievements in its scientific research and international cooperation projects, the university has developed a variety of products and technological production processes that benefit people’s lives and promote export, thus helping the University gain prestige in national and international markets.

The University has established scientific and technological cooperation with many international organizations, universities, and research institutes. As a result of these cooperative projects, the staff’s administrative capabilities and specializations have been upgraded. The facilities, experimental equipment, and scientific materials have also been added.

CLEAR RIVERS prevents plastic litter to enter our seas and oceans!

CLEAR stands for :
Cleanups are organized to remove plastic litter from rivers and to involve the local population and organizations.

Litter Traps are installed in the Port of Rotterdam, the Port of Brussels and the Indonesian island Ambon. We are expanding our approach internationally, to retrieve marine litter in rivers worldwide before it reaches the seas and oceans.

Education about plastic pollution, the causes, and needed solutions are given at all levels of the educational system. The problem is tackled at its core with this long-term approach, by educating the next generation of professionals to resolve this issue within the next decade(s).

Awareness is increased amongst local population and organizations, to involve them in acting towards a plastic-free sea.

Recycling is used to give new value to the plastic litter we retrieve, and to prevent the plastics to be littered again. Durable new products are created with recycled plastics, such as our Litter Traps, a floating park, furniture and building materials for the improvement of housing situations in less developed areas.

Together, this creates an overall, all-inclusive approach towards marine litter.

Although CLEAR RIVERS is new as a brand, the organization benefits from five years of experience in plastic retrieval, recycling and education. In Rotterdam (the Netherlands), Brussels (Belgium) and Ambon (Indonesia), successful projects are already ongoing with Litter Traps, cleanups, education and a range of circular products developed such as Litter Traps, a floating park, furniture, and building materials.

CLEAR RIVERS is a brand name of Recycled Island Foundation, a registered non-profit organization in the Netherlands.

Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies.

Green Growth Program Indonesia is implemented jointly by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and the Government of Indonesia through the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas). The Program, officially known as ’GoI-GGGI Green Growth Program’ is led by Bappenas and involves a number of national ministries and sub-national governments (the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs and National Council on Special Economic Zones, Provincial Government of Kalimantan Tengah and Kalimantan Timur).

Green Growth Program supports Indonesia in achieving green growth that simultaneously achieves poverty reduction, social inclusion, environmental sustainability and resource efficiency.

The Government of Indonesia (GoI) has set a goal to become one of the top ten largest economies in the world by 2025, and recognizes that to achieve this goal in a socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable way, Indonesia will need to shift from its traditional growth model toward a green growth pathway.

The joint GoI and GGGI goal is:

"Indonesia achieves green growth that is socially inclusive, environmentally sustainable and resource efficient."

To achieve this goal, the Program Phase I (2013 - 2015) is delivered under three components:

Comp 1: Green Growth mainstreamed in planning processes, with three sub-components; 1A) mainstreaming Green Growth in the overall planning process; 1B) mainstreaming Green Growth in the MP3EI/Capital Projects; and 1C) driving investment towards green technologies or often referred to as GIMS (green industry mapping strategy)
Comp 2: REDD+ for Green Growth; and
Comp 3: prioritizing and implementing Green Growth at provincial and district levels (Central and East Kalimantan)
Capacity building is cross-cutting

The Phase II Program (2016 - 2019) has four focus sectors:

Energy
Sustainable Landscapes
Infrastructure in Special Economic Zones
Cross Sectoral

The overall objectives of this program are to develop strategies to integrate green growth goals, concepts, methods, tools, and practices into development planning, identify short, medium, and long term needs to design, plan, and implement interventions that can drive green growth and generate capacity, tools and case studies to facilitate the mainstreaming of green growth into national socio-economic development planning.

Over the last 35 years, IFAD and the Government of Indonesia have invested more than US$1 billion in rural people to strengthen inclusive and environmentally sustainable economic growth. Our work concentrates on helping smallholder producers and marginalized groups to become more resilient, integrate into supply chains and gain access to services, technologies and finance. IFAD's projects have been successful in the most remote and vulnerable areas of the country, which also usually have the highest incidence of poverty.

IFAD's current results-based country strategic opportunities programme (2016-2019) aims to support inclusive rural transformation so rural people can achieve sustainable livelihoods. We work to achieve this by providing financing and technical support to develop models for replication and scaling up by the government and others. The emphasis is on empowering marginalized groups including smallholder farmers and fisheries producers, women and woman-headed households, marginal communities and ethnic minorities in selected geographic areas, and youth.
